A few years back, my Aunt was diagnosed with Celiac's disease. Upon that diagnosis, we embarked on a journey of discovery about our food industry and decided we needed to take an active role in our food chain by growing and producing as much of our own food as possible. We hope to eventually expand and cater to people with food allergies by growing and producing food with their allergen completely removed from the production process. Allergic to wheat? Take relief in knowing that meat & eggs were grown without wheat in their diets.
But where did "Justa" come from? As a kid, my Mom wanted to remove the wall between the kitchen & dinning room. I remember her saying, "It's justa wall! How hard could it be?!" Well that wall turned into a full greatroom remodel. In reflecting on this story, it seems I picked up her perception of the simplicity of my ideas, and somehow my 'simple' projects take on a life of their own. So now, anytime I say, "It's justa..." we know it's going to be a big project.
Today, we take great pride in our small family run homestead. We work evenings and weekends to help bring healthy, clean food to the tables of our family and friends. We strive to sustainably grow and raise food while utilizing as many local resources as possible.
